Meet
Dr. Lee C. Newton
Dr. Newton is a graduate of the Michigan College of Optometry at Ferris
State University. He began practicing in Bay City on Center Avenue in
2000.
Since then he has continued to serve Bay City and Bay County with
thorough, high tech eye care in an independent professional setting.
Dr. Newton has dedicated his professional career to vision correction,
specialized contact lens fitting, eye health care, and detecting and
correcting visual problems in children. An active member of the Michigan
and American Optometric Associations, he has donated his time to Infant
See,
the AOA initiative to provide free eye examinations to infants up to 1
year
of age. Dr. Newton is certified in the use of both topical and oral
medications for the treatment of eye conditions. He is continually
educating himself through professional journals, seminars, and
continuing
optometric education courses.
Though he grew up near Lapeer, Dr. Newton grew fond of the mid-Michigan
area
while completing his optometry externships in 1999-2000 and subsequently
decided to stay, purchasing an established practice from Dr. Louis
Schueneman. Dr. Newton lives with his wife, Mollie, and their two
daughters, Anika and Chloe, less than a mile from the office. He enjoys
spending time with his family, bicycling, yard work, projects around the
house, and playing the saxophone. His biggest "claims to fame" are being
the top high school saxophonist in the state of Michigan for two years
and
competing in the William C. Byrd International Music Competition in
1997,
when he was runner-up to the individual who later achieved second place
saxophonist in the world.
Dr. Newton's practice philosophy is to treat patients they way anyone
would
like to be treated, and to provide quality care with the personal
attention
often missing in today's world.
